Spring Break House Guests

Kaylynn got an "exciting opportunity" to host the class guinea pigs over spring break! She loves having them here and is taking good care of them (Bugsy, Addison, and Ilikey).
She thought Miss Leslie was going to come to our house to clean their cage while they were with us - I wish! I think Bugsy is the favorite.
They are so scared they don't move much!
Today K went to a fishing clinic in town. She went through five stations to learn different things (tying a knot, taking a hook out of the fish's mouth, casting...) and when she finished them all she got her very own fishing pole! After that, even though it was cold and windy, she fished for 45 minutes before calling it quits.

Practicing casting:
Last Wednesday K had a snow day so we spent the morning shoveling, sledding and building a snowman. Gotta love CO though, it melted just as quickly as it fell (and the roads were too warm to ever really cause a problem - never would have been a snow day in MN or MT!). Sure was enjoyable to spend 2 hours outside and actually enjoy the snow day!

Easy way out

Here is a link to Jenny's blog with a few pictures of K and her before they went to "Mary Poppins" at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. K had a great time at her first live performance. Cory and I stayed with James and taught him all sorts of bad habits. Fun was had by all!

A Sioux-per Weekend!

Last weekend we headed down to watch the Sioux hockey team play CC in Colorado Springs. We headed down on Friday and stopped at Peterson AFB to check out the Aerospace Museum. We got a personal tour of the grounds and even got to go in the "Constellation".

And one for Sheldon:
The next day we went to Garden of the Gods. I have been there several times but never in the winter. It was beautiful, as always, but the snow was a nice touch.
Pikes Peak through the trees:
At the hotel, ready for the big game!
Kaylynn spent all of Saturday's game trying to learn how to blow a bubble with her gum. Sure kept her occupied!
And she now has it mastered - she is so proud!
