A busy time of year!

As all of you know, this is a very busy time of year. We have been having a lot of fun the past few weeks and I have failed to put some great pictures up so I am going to try to play catch up. Here's a brief glimpse of our lives over the past two weeks...

It snowed!!

Kaylynn has been a big help in the kitchen...

when she isn't too busy sneaking bites (notice the missing "tree" off the corner of the lot)!

She also helped decorate the tree and took a few mandatory pictures in front of it.

She really wanted Lightning to be in a picture - too bad it is the wrong end...

oh, there we go!

Kaylynn and Mommy had a girls day out to "Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes". Kaylynn's favorite part was...the Dragon!

She has also been busy putting on Christmas programs -

at school

Cheers to a good friendship (with Mina)!

And with her teacher Miss Amy.

and at church where she was a sheep...

And Finally, Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season!

Here comes Santa Claus!

We went to the UCAR Children's Holiday party last weekend and Kaylynn finally braved sitting on Santa's lap! We really talked it up before hand and told her he is the guy that brings presents. She wouldn't talk to him and tell him what she wants (camera and telephone - typical 3-year-old toys, right?!), but at least she sat there! Here is a picture.

And, for one last good laugh, last years picture.

Going to the Chapel

Jenny and Doug's big day was last Saturday. Lots of family and friends in town. The entire weekend was a lot of fun (of course). It all started on Thursday with a crew of 14 at our place to celebrate turkey day. Then, it was off to Arvada and Golden for the rehearsal, wedding, and reception on Friday and Saturday. Congratulations to the happy couple. Here are some snapshots from the busy weekend. Some better pictures can be seen at the photographer's blog.

She's heels over head!

Kaylynn did a head stand all by herself today - she was so proud! (OK, there was a little help from the wall, but still!) Check it out.

And even though the Rockies didn't win it all, Kaylynn is still a fan.

Halloween Zoo Fun

We went to Boo at the Zoo last weekend. Kaylynn was in costume, of course, like all of the other kids there. It's hard to tell which one is the tiger and which one is the kid right?

Lucy and some other friends were there with us as well. Here's the crew: Mateo the spider, Lilly the clown, and Lucy the pirate.

Performer

Kaylynn has been enjoying putting on mini-performances for us lately. Here is a video of her singing some random song (with no words - or perhaps in chinese?!) and her bow afterwards.

Sevilla

One good thing about Daddy being gone is that he always brings home presents! Kaylynn really liked her t-shirt and the wind-up bull from Spain.

Here are a couple of other random recent pictures of Kaylynn.

Godmother visit

Nicole came to visit us last weekend and we had a great time. We visited the Butterfly Pavilion, played outside and read lots of books (Nicole had to get used to reading the SAME book over and over!) Kaylynn had a great time with her.

Team Pictures

Here is a picture of Kaylynn's soccer team. They are: Coach Kory, Maddison, Kaylynn, Dillon, Keagon, and Carson.

Kaylynn is slowly getting into playing more each game. She seems to enjoy it once we get her on the field. But she enjoys her juice and snack on the side line a lot too!

Time for Soccer

Kaylynn's first soccer game was today. This post is some video that we took on the digital camera, just to see if I can figure out how to post video. If this doesn't work, maybe I'll try youtube. Some pictures are tacked on at the end.

Anyway, Kaylynn had fun this morning at her first game. We had a hard time getting her out there right away, but she ended up playing more than everyone except two little boys. She even scored a goal. Unfortunately, this was not captured on video, but this clip shows her almost scoring and ending up with an assist. The games are just hilarious. They put the ball down and basically one kid takes it and heads for the goal. There are not many turnovers, lots of goals, and some tears (from falling over the ball, tripping over other kids, or just not wanting to go out and play). It's going to be a fun season. After the game the parents of both teams get together and make a tunnel for the kids to run through while everyone cheers.

Ready to play (Yes, she is actually wearing shorts)

Lining up before the game. I never realized she was so tall for her age until she stood next to a few of the kids. She's probably one of the youngest in the league since the cutoff for turning 3 was the end of July, but she was taller than anyone else out there.

GOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!

One active kid

Last Friday Kaylynn tried a gymnastics (or gym-necklace as Kaylynn calls it) class at her school. She had a great time jumping into to foam block pit, on the balance beam and on the bars. She has been practicing sticking her landings by jumping off the couch all week now too!

Yesterday was Kaylynn's first soccer practice. Cory called it "barely controlled chaos"! It was hilarious to watch! When the coach asked the kids if they knew how to dribble the ball Kaylynn picked up the soccer ball and tried to dribble it like a basketball - that a girl!! They started by warming up with a run, stretching, dribbling and then a little scrimmage at the end. Two kids started at the line of scrimmage and who ever got the ball first basically took it to the other goal and scored. They were all too polite to take the ball away from each other! One little boy yelled "I'm doing great Mom!" while he was practicing his dribbling! Their first game is Saturday - should be very entertaining!

P.S. Don't worry, we bought her soccer socks today to hold her shin guards on!

Fun on the Farm

The family trekked up to Montana for a week at the end of August. Jamie was a little nervous because it was the one year anniversary of when we hit the deer. This year no deer were hit, just millions of bugs, one bird, and one rabbit. Harvest was in full force, so we were able to get in on helping with that. I got to drive the combine some and learned how to drive the semi. It's always nice to go home. Kaylynn also has a lot of fun up there. She spends most of her time outside and enjoys most of the livestock (dogs, cats, horse, cows) running around grandpa and grandma's and uncle Pete's places. She really enjoyed riding the combine and was a little scared riding horse. She also made a new friend. A kitten we named "Spud" that was the runt of a litter born right outside the house. She loved to sit and hold him and bring him in the house. She even got to help feed him and his siblings (Kaylee and Oreo) because it appeared that the mother had abandoned them for a while. She came back though. All in all, it was a fun trip. Here are some pictures from the adventure.

Riding the combine with grandpa and grandma.

She looks pretty small sitting in the tractor tire.

Posing with Maggie.

Holding Spud.

Not a huge fan of riding the horse, but she did it bareback.
