Swim goggles and name writing

Kaylynn loves her swim goggles. She got them as a reward for putting her face in the water. She graduated tonight from the Turtle class to the Alligator class. She is very proud!

This past Sunday in Sunday School Kaylynn wrote her name all by herself! See if you can pick it out (the A is upside down)...

Tiny Dancers

Kaylynn started dance class a couple of weekends ago and she really enjoys it! They do ballet and tap. She has two friends from school in her class too, Mina and Paige. They are so cute!

About Time

So, it's been almost a month since Christmas. The tree is down (but not put away yet). The lights are off (but not taken down yet), and the goodies are gone (but not forgotten). It's about time that we get a post put up about Christmas right? We had a great holiday this year. Jamie's parents were here for a week. Kaylynn loved every aspect of the whole thing.

The first thing we did was head to the zoo for ZooLights. Every year they put up lights shaped like animals all over the zoo. Some are even animated. It was quite cold the night we went, but with plenty of hot chocolate and some extra blankets for Kaylynn it was a good night. There was a guy there doing some ice carving too, which was fun to see. He made a bear out of some big ice blocks. It didn't look that difficult. All you have to do is get rid of everything that doesn't look like a bear.

We also did a little ice skating, which was fun. They have some nice aids for little ones so they can have support as they're "skating" on the ice. It's always good to have daddy there too, though, just in case. Of course, daddy was using the aid almost as much as Kaylynn.

The highlight of the week was the present opening. Kaylynn was very excited about everything she got, including her new bike:

her new camera,

and her guitar (or "tar" as she calls it).

I was also very excited with the Wii that Jamie's parents picked out, much to Jamie's chagrin. It should be noted, though, that she has played it almost as much as I have so far.

Kaylynn even got to make an igloo with grandpa in the back yard.

All in all, we had a wonderful Christmas and we hope all of the rest of you did too.
