Our Chinese doll

Kaylynn got another Christmas gift today from "The Godfather". It is a beautiful, handmade, traditional Chinese dress made especially for K. She looks so adorable and it fits her perfectly. Here she is modeling it for us. Thanks for the special gift Nate and Laura!

A quiet Christmas

We had a quiet Christmas around our house this year. We celebrated a week early with Jenny, Doug and James before they headed up to SD and MT for the holiday. Kaylynn loves her new Easy Bake oven and James seemed to like his new blocks.
Though I think they both liked the oven accessories and box for the oven the best!
Peek!
And K was busy keeping James away from the stockings and guaranteed concussion-causing holders!
Christmas Eve was just the three of us. Here we are, all dressed up and ready for church.
After our traditional soup dinner and a quick trip out to look at Christmas lights we came home to open gifts!
Our princess got some cooking accessories.
A new scooter (which has made several laps around the living room/kitchen!)
Did you know you can play Sorry 8 times in one day...? I didn't either until K did it today!
K did take a few minutes away from her toys to show off Daddy's new fly fishing rod/reel.
Daddy and I like this gift the best (but she thinks she can only wear it to hockey games)!
(BTW, we went to The Princess and the Frog this weekend too. It was GREAT!!)When K opened this from her Godmother she squealed - "just what I always wanted!!!" Great work, Nic! And Santa brought a special Disney castle with all the princesses and princes (except, as Kaylynn promptly noticed, Ariel!)Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New year!

A white Christmas!

According to NCDCs analysis of 1961-1990 data, we only have a 26-40% chance of a white Christmas around here. We got one this year! What a great way to spend a day off - playing in the snow!
Santa's sleigh should have no trouble landing here tonight either!

Better get these posted...

before the main event in a couple of days!

We had a lot going on in early December. Here are a few snapshots of the fun!

Here is K before her dance recital. The improvement from two years ago was really amazing!
Daddy took K and Avery to Disney on Ice this year. Both princesses had a great time!
Jenny and James came up last weekend for K's church Christmas program and, of course, we had to photograph the kids in front of the tree!!
And a couple of K teaching James dance poses in front of the tree.
This is how the tree decorations look post-James visit.
And, just for fun, when does she outgrow banging on pots and pans?!!

Giving thanks for family

We had a great time just hanging out and relaxing with family in MN over Thanksgiving. Here are a few pictures from our week.

Making turkey cookies. K really just wanted to eat the decorations!
The obligatory family pictures on the couch! Kaylynn was having so much fun with this. She had us all posed with different sets of people and we each had to get individual shots too! (I will spare you from all of those and only post a few of K!!)
We got to see Great-Grandma a couple of times. Kaylynn loves having tea at her house while playing dominoes!Kaylynn also loved learning how to play "Sorry".Finally, we went bowling with Cory's aunt, uncle, cousins, and kids one afternoon. None of us got the scores we get on the Wii, but we all had a lot of fun!
