Easter Festivites

The Easter Bunny was good to Kaylynn! She found lots of eggs on Easter morning at our house and then when we got down to Aunie's house for dinner the Easter Bunny had been there as well and left her a few things. She asked Aunie how he knew to come to her house too and Aunie said, "It's magic" and Kaylynn said, "Yes, it is magical!" Here are some pictures from the holiday.

Kaylynn in her Easter dress hunting for eggs before heading off to church.

Look what the Easter Bunny left!

YUM! Look at those ears!

We had to get up really early for church so K took a nap on the way to Aunie's. She did not want to take off her hat and gloves!

James, Kaylynn and Sophie. You try taking a picture of three kids age 4 and under!!

A better one of Kaylynn and her "baby brother".

Of course, I usually have a random picture at the end of all my Kaylynn posts and here is one of the new fan blades I made for her room. She likes them (I quote - "Awesome!!")!

Twisted randomness

For some reason we decided to pull the game "Twister" out the other day, which Kaylynn thought was *lots* of fun! However, she thought it was even funnier to watch Mommy and Daddy play. We also had fun, the first few times . . . but now the game is back in hiding!

We started getting ready for Easter last weekend. Here is Kaylynn with the eggs she dyed. Plenty more Easter pics to come, I am sure!

She also recently found this sleeping mask in her toy box which she has actually been using the last few nights (I snuck in to take this picture!). Maybe she will sleep in a little more this summer if she gets used to wearing it - we can only hope!

Finally, I leave you with a few pictures of a woodpecker that was in a tree out in front of our house the other day. It was the neighbors tree, so it was neat - until it starts pecking at my house, I will enjoy it!

Sledding Video

Kaylynn and I went back out and did some sledding this morning. The sun was coming out so it was really nice. Here is a short video I took.

I'm sure the snow will be gone soon, but it was fun while it lasted.

Blizzard!

I guess I spoke to soon about no winter around here. We had a fantastic snow storm here today and even got out of work at Noon! We got about a foot of snow at our house (very hard to tell exactly because it was very windy with lots of big drifts and some areas of bare ground!). We just came back in from shoveling and sledding. Kaylynn has been waiting all winter to sled and make snow angels. She had a fabulous time. Here are a bunch of pictures from our afternoon.

The wind was really blowing the snow around:

We were very impressed - if you look very hard you can see the mail delivery truck across the street...even in a blizzard!

Our little helper:
Then she got tired of shoveling and thought it was a lot more fun to jump in the snow and make snow angels:
The next two pictures are an action shot:

Queen of the snow hill.
She had to get out to the shed to get her sled, that was a feat.
Finally, she has waited so long for this!

Thanks, Mother Nature, for a fun day!

Sure sign of spring

Around here we have definitely transitioned into spring (wait, I'm not sure we ever had winter). We have been having some amazing weather (even on the weekends - bonus!), though we desperately need some moisture. With the nice weather comes yard work. Kaylynn helped me last weekend and found three lady bugs which she then played with for about 20 minutes. She named them all "kitty" - I don't know why!

Kaylynn and Daddy went to Disney on Ice on Thursday night. After the show Kaylynn just said "AWESOME!"! Apparently she liked it!
This morning K helped me bake a cake for Daddy. She has never been a beater-licker - until today! She finally discovered one of life's simple pleasures!

K also had her first soccer game of the season. She is the only girl on her team this year. She has started to be *a little* more aggressive, when she isn't picking dead grass and throwing it in the air... She still worked hard and earned a much needed nap!

Bowling and Miscellany

I got back from Alaska this morning, and we had made plans to take Kaylynn bowling with some friends (Nate, Julia, and Peter), so I gave Jamie a break and took her over to the alley for some non-Wii style bowling. She seemed to enjoy it and scored a 61 and then a 63. Here are a few pics and a video from the outing.

Also, here are a few pictures from my trip up to Alaska. It was a lot of fun. Fairbanks hosts an international ice carving contest, so I was able to go and see some of the amazing art. It is impressive what they can do with a block (or blocks) of ice. Here are some samples, but since it was at night they don't quite do them justice.

Finally, today is March 14, which means it is pi day. When I got home Jamie had a peanut butter pie ready for me. It is delicious.

Hit the slopes

We hit the slopes yesterday at Copper Mountain. We made quite a few runs (it was lightly snowing - a great day for skiing) and Kaylynn really showed us that the lessons she took in January were well worth the money! She did a great job! She even made sure Mommy knew how to get off the chairlift (she was pretty concerned about me and thought I wouldn't be able to get off!).

It was so much fun to all ski together as a family. I realize this will not last once Kaylynn gets too good and her and Daddy get tired of waiting for Mommy to get down!

Here are some pictures from our day and a video of Kaylynn mastering the mountain.
