First, here is the car I'm driving. It's called a Nissan Dualis. It's pretty small but has some extra room in the back.
Just to prove I'm in Australia here is what I see from the driver's seat. Weird, but I'm getting used to it. I don't get in on wrong side....too often.
Yesterday we took in an Australian Rules football (or footy as they call it) game. It was fun to watch, lots of action and pretty easy to follow, even for a bunch of Yanks. The field is huge, way bigger than an American football field, and it's an oval.
When the ball goes out of bounds one of the referees throws it backwards over his head and it becomes like a jump ball.
Between quarters anyone could go onto the field, so we did between the 3rd and 4th quarter, just to look around a bit. The sun was setting and you could see the colors through the grandstands.
I told grandma I'd have some pictures of my apartment, so here is my home for the next 3 weeks. It's a one bedroom place above a garage behind the owner's house. It's very private. The owners aren't here right now, they are on vacation in Indonesia. I don't know when they get back, but for now I'm the only one coming and going. Here is the living room.
The kitchen is just off of that.
Bathroom. The shower is behind the glass on the left side.
Bedroom. Likely the last time the bed will be made.
The balcony outside. The steps come up from the right.
And the balcony wraps around on the side a bit. The washing machine is actually in that bin on the right side. Yes, it's outdoors. There is no dryer so I'll be air drying everything.
I went to a market this morning and found a woman who makes taggie blankets that are similar to what Jamie and Jenny make. These were smaller and had some stuffing in them but the concept is the same. She was interested to hear that taggies are in the U.S. too.
