Kaylynn got a tiny little cabbage plant at the end of the school year last year. Considering all we did was put it in the garden and nothing else, it did pretty well (minus the leaves that were eaten by bugs)! Now I need to see if I can get her to try it!

Moose and Wildflowers!
Over the past two weekends I have been lucky enough to see 7 moose. Two cows, a calf and four bull moose. Here are some pictures of the encounters; though, it turns out that for such a large animal they can sure hide well!
The first cow was seen next to our camper at Sky Ranch. She was in the brush and after more and more people came for a look she decided to take off!
The second cow and calf showed up during the sermon of our outdoor worship in the pouring rain. I didn't have my camera at that point, but saw them again later tucked in the trees.

The four bull moose were spotted near Brainard Lake. They were all happily munching on willows that were about the same height as the moose - but the antlers sure are impressive!
This guy was the smallest:
This guy was the biggest:
So many antlers! The three smaller ones hung real close to each other.
The big guy did his own thing.
Here you can see all four in the same shot.
After we saw the bull moose, we hiked around Long Lake and enjoyed many beautiful wild flowers.
I have seen CO in all her glory recently and am truly grateful to be living in such a wonderful place!
