Fall Colors

I miss the reds of Minnesota - in Colorado it is all golds - but it is still (somehow!) beautiful! I couldn't narrow it down any further so here are quite a few pictures from our drive along the Peak to Peak Highway.

The chaos we call normal

We are back from our vacation and working on getting back into "normal" life. With school and sports (soccer and dance so far, swimming soon!) starting back up, we are keeping very busy!

But we still have time to play with baby James:
and hangout in our new moose pj's!
Also, here is video of Kaylynn doing her two favorite things right now - being a princess and dancing!

Goodbye Guam

Tomorrow morning I am heading home from Guam. I leave at 6:30 Monday morning. After a 7 hour flight to Honolulu, a 5 hour layover, and a 7.5 hour flight to Denver I finally arrive at ........9:00 Monday morning?!?! What the....? My head hurts.

Guam has been fun, but I'm ready to head home. I miss the family and am anxious to meet J.D. I was able to get on one flight (out of 6 total during the time I was here, it's been a little dead typhoon-wise) and was supposed to get on a second one today. After a 12:45 a.m. wake up call we ended up on the plane for 3 hours but never left the ground due to a radar problem. Oh well, I took a quick nap and then a co-worker and I decided to spend the day exploring the island, something neither of us had a good chance to do before today. We drove around the entire island and made lots of stops for pictures, food, walks, etc. and it took us 6 hours. It's not a big island, but it is pretty.

Up North

We had a fabulous trip "up north"! Kaylynn told Grandpa that her favorite part was the fishing - that made him smile!! In all, we kept 78 sun fish (about half of which we ate while we were there) and 5 walleye. We caught MANY more that we threw back so it was a fun and successful fishing trip! Kaylynn also enjoyed chasing the ducks and riding on the paddle boat too. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Here she is with her Barbie fishing pole and life jacket.

Reeling in her first fish.

It's a keeper (for sentimental reasons!)!!

She was a little more brave on her second catch and would hold this one by herself.

Look at this nice bass she caught. She didn't want to touch this one - it was too big!

Cruising around on the boat. She liked to drive fast!

Playing on the beach.

The ducks really enjoyed when she fed them ...

but were not too sure about the sport of chasing!

Building a sand castle with Grandpa.

Paddle boating. She kept saying "I want to go faster!" Mine and Grandma's legs do not move that fast!

Oh, and I can't forget the reason we have all these great lakes, Paul Bunyan. No Babe though.
